About Kibira National Park
Kibira National Park is Burundi's largest highland rainforest, blanketing the Albertine Rift escarpment in the north-west of the country. It protects over 600 bird species — one of the highest densities in Central Africa — as well as chimpanzees, black-and-white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, and the elusive African golden cat. At altitudes reaching 2,666 m, the park's mist-shrouded ridges feel remarkably remote. Getting to Kibira National Park
