Ruvubu National Park
Burundi's Largest Wilderness — Completely Unspoiled
About Ruvubu National Park
Ruvubu National Park is Burundi's largest protected area at 508 km², running along the banks of the Ruvubu River in the north-east. Its vast, rolling grasslands, riverine forest, and wetland habitats shelter hippos, Nile crocodiles, cape buffalos, waterbucks, five primate species, and over 600 bird species. Because almost no international tourism infrastructure has been developed here, Ruvubu offers an incredibly rare experience: a genuine off-grid African wilderness with no other tourists. East Africa Bridge Tours is one of the only operators running organised safaris into this park.
