Walk Through the Wild
Nature walks offer a slower, more intimate way to experience East Africa's landscapes. Unlike vehicle-based game drives, walking tours let you notice the details — medicinal plants, insect life, animal tracks, and the sounds of the forest canopy.
Where We Walk
- Nyungwe Forest (Rwanda) — ancient montane rainforest with 13 primate species, the canopy walkway, and 300+ bird species
- Kibira National Park (Burundi) — Burundi's largest remaining rainforest, home to chimpanzees and colobus monkeys
- Kigwena Natural Reserve (Burundi) — a small but biodiverse pocket of forest along the Rusizi floodplain. See our Bujumbura day trips guide.
- Bwindi Impenetrable Forest (Uganda) — guided forest walks beyond the gorilla trails, through one of Africa's most biodiverse forests
What to Bring
Comfortable hiking boots, rain jacket, long trousers, and insect repellent. We provide guides, park permits, and transport. Most walks can be combined with birdwatching tours or primate treks.
